Project Idea.....Can it work?

AFTER you've done your research and concluded your experiments, it is time to prepare for the science fair. Ask specific questions about preparing for a science fair, including how to set up your display board, how to prepare a presentation, etc. (Please post questions about selecting a project or conducting your experiment by posting in the appropriate "area of science" forum.)

Project Question: Can the idea of "Men Verses Women" be put into the form of a valid, successful Science Fair Project. This idea derived from MythBusters. In this case the independent variable would be the task, the dependent would be the gender? We want to conduct 4 task....who is better at multi tasking, who has better posture, who better reads emotions and who can better pack a suitcase. Thoughts?

Hi,
This idea could work but it would be hard to collect data. You would need to get a variety of men and women to do this experiment to get a somewhat accurate result. This experiment is difficult to obtain results as some women(or men) are just better at one task compared to another women. For example, some women are just naturally unorganized and could not pack a suitcase as well as another organized woman. It is commonly assumed that all men have certain skills pertaining specifically to them and that all women have certain skills pertaining specifically to them as well but there are always outliers. This is why to get somewhat accurate results and see a trend, you would need to test many women and men. In terms of independent and dependent variables, you should perform all tasks separately and have the independent variable be the gender and the dependent variable be the outcome of the task, for example, the dependent variable would be the number of items one could fit in the suitcase. After collecting the outcomes of all tasks, you could then compare the results and determine by the trend who is better at what.

it can be done but collecting data would be hard you need to a group of men and women to do some tests and etc
