Would this be considered a Testable Question for Science fair (Why do some people have flat feet and others do not?)

Hi,

I suggest you read this page from the Science Buddies Project Guide:

https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... tion.shtml

Let me turn the question back on you. If this question is testable, what is the test you propose? If you can propose the test that will answer the question (your experiment), then the question is testable. For example you might ask if flat feet is a trait that is inherited, which you might test by examining family trees and checking for who in families has flat feet and who does not, and trying to find out if it follows dominent or recessive inheritance trait patterns. You might also see if you could find a gene sequence that causes it. You could also see if an injury or other environmental factor causes it. In each of these possible hypotheses you might be able to devise a test to answer whether or not you theory is correct, and the question is then obviously testable. You should probably do some research on the your question before deciding whether or not your question is testable.

If you decide to pursue this question you need to be aware of science fair policies on collecting medical information or doing experiments on human subjects. Check out these pages in the Science Buddies Project Guide:
