We don't know what level 5 is (unless you mean the sciencebuddies level) Perhaps you could provide your age? Most crystal growing experiments are too simple for older students, and tend to be observational rather than hypothesis driven.

A couple of things to note: 5 is a little easy for a ninth grader, so you probably want to do some of the variations and extra work suggested.

I didn't find too many crystal projects that were suitable for a ninth grader. As I mentioned, most projects with crystals are too simple.
