Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

I have worked on a project where my conclusion did not prove my hypothesis. Is this not good for me to win science competitions. I see all winners have good findings that support their hypothesis.

That's a good question. You still may have discovered something by not proving your hypothesis. What are the details?

There's nothing wrong with rejecting your hypothesis--it happens all the time in science. That said, the judges are very likely to ask you why you think you got different results than you expected, and you should probably be able to explain them.
