Hi Amalina - Have you already read through this Science Buddies project idea?

Veggie Power! Making Batteries from Fruits and Vegetables
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... p029.shtml

If not, this would be a good starting point for background information and for an experimental procedure.

Hi Amalina,

Excellent question!

The sciencebuddies article (https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... p029.shtml) mentions potatoes, citrus fruits and onions. It encourages experimentation with other fruits and vegetables.

Elsewhere, lots of fruits and vegetables are discussed, but none yet for pineapple. I encourage you to run a pineapple experiment, and let us all know if a pineapple battery works.

Here are some additional resources:

orange

potato

lemon

apple, lemons, tomatoes, onion,, potatoes
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_fruit_or ... ve_battery

lemons, oranges, potatoes, carrots
http://www.finishing.com/262/03.shtml

what other fruits can make a ’lemon battery’?
http://van.physics.illinois.edu/qa/listing.php?id=2404
discusses why and how electricity is generated by fruits and vegetables
“As for what foods can be used, almost any fruit or vegetable should work,” discusses some, but doesn’t discuss pineapple.

pineapple
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Can_a_pineapp ... ve_battery
contain "This question has not been answered yet."
So, when you run a pineapple experiment, you could answer the question!
Cheers!

Amalina,

I'm sorry, but I'm not quite sure what you're asking. Can you explain what you're still having trouble with? Have you already read through the links provided by the other experts? If not, I would suggest carefully reading everything they suggested and then doing the experiment!
