Trying to Narrow Down to One Specific Question

Post by scienceperson234 »

Hi,
I am currently thinking of ideas for a science fair, and right now, I am just doing some general research (because the science fair isn't anytime soon), but I'm thinking of doing a topic on phytoplankton/ Harmful Algal Blooms. However, I have trouble narrowing down to a specific question. May someone please come up with a possible suggestion that can lead me on the right path? Thank you!

Hello Science Person and welcome to science buddies,

I suggest that you search the science buddies projects for key words like phytoplankton.

Look at a few of the projects to see how the project methods and procedures. That might help you decide on something that seems interesting to you.

Let us know what you find and do not hesitate to ask more questions!

Hi,

Thank you so much for the input! I looked around and found many great ideas, however, are we allowed to use these experiments for science fairs, or use them as guidelines to help us with coming up with our own original experiment?

Thanks!

Hello Science Person,
It great to hear that you found some good ideas! Yes, definitely, you are allowed to use any of these projects for science fairs. You are also encouraged to expand and extend the project. Many of the projects have a final section labeled "Make it your own."

Best wishes and be sure to let us know if you have more questions!
