I have a Jr. High Student that is very interested in computer science and wants to do a science project using Raspberry Pi materials. I have all the equipment needed to do a great project, I'm just not familiar with it and lack basic programming skills. Not sure how to take the materials, and turn it into a science project. What is a good thing to compare (independent variable) and to measure (dependent variable)? The student is very advanced and I feel lost guiding him to a good project idea and setup. Please help!!!

Hello,
There are several projects in the Science Buddies project database which make use of the Raspberry Pi materials. Search the project ideas section for "raspberry pi":

https://www.sciencebuddies.org/search?v=pi

Even if these specific projects are not of interest to your student, just having your student read the background, references, and procedures might help your student develop her own project.

Be sure to let us know what the student comes up with, and let us know if you have more questions.
