Infrared light

My daughter chose “Seeing Beyond the Visible: Photography with Near Infrared Illumination” as her science fair protect. Could you please help us letting us know how we measure the infrared light after taking two pictures of the same object using a cámara without any filter and the same cámara with an Infrared light filter? What do we use? Thank you

Hi there,

Once you have the two photos, you will need to compare the two using relative comparisons. The procedure suggests to "find an object whose reflectivity is similar in visible and NIR". This will serve as a common scale for the two images--they should be the same in both images so it will allow you to make a comparison.

You will be making observations on the reflectivity of objects based on this scale.
