Hypothesis statement in Scientific Method format

Post by anaprilmommy »

My son is doing a science fair project on the effect of an aloe vera juice wash preserving the life of strawberries. His testable question is, "Will washing strawberries in aloe vera juice protect them from mold?" We're having trouble making an "If, then," statement that sounds good. "If I wash strawberries in aloe vera juice, then they will be mold-free longer than those washed in water." Does anyone have a better-sounding statement? We thank you in advance!

That sounds like an exciting project! For your hypothesis, how about, "If strawberries are washed in aloe vera juice, then the time it takes to mold will be longer compared to a strawberry washed in water."

Hope this helps! :)
