Einstein’s general relativity

Post by ElliotBorn »

According to Einstein’s theory that there is no force that’s pushing us down, but rather the earth pushing us up. However, if two people on each side of the earth jumps, how is it possible that the earth accelerates into them both simultaneously?

Hello ElliotBorn and welcome to Science Buddies,

Are you planning to do a hands-on science project on Einstein and relativity? If so, would you please describe your project in more detail, including your hypothesis and the experiments you are going to do. Science Buddies is for students who are doing hands-on projects, so if you are not doing one, there are other sites on the web where your questions would be more appropriate.

Thank you,
Madeline

Thanks for answer. Unfortunately, I do not have enough materials to perform experiments on my hypothesis. However, I still how you’ll be able to answer me.

My hypothesis goes like this: According to the general relativity theory made by Einstein. Gravity is not a force pushing us downwards. Instead, the earth is pushing us upwards. However, how does the earth push upwards in every single direction simultaneously without expanding?

Hello again,

The Ask the Expert forums are for students and their parents and teachers in Grades K-12 who are doing hands-on science projects. The experts here are volunteers so they don't have time to respond to other questions. There are other sites on the internet where your questions will be more appropriate. I hope you understand!

Thank you
