I have an idea for a question starter for my project. My question is 'Which type of building construction is safest for firefighters to fight fires in?'. I'm not sure how "scientific" my project would be. I would like to know if this is a question that would be acceptable for a science fair project.
Note: I have taken class on building construction at fire school.
Thank-you for helping me with my dilemma.

Your project can be as scientific as you make it. You need to decide how you are going to measure the safety of a building. The main thing that makes a project scientific is that it measures something quantitatively. As long as you can decide how and what to measure, your project will be scientific enough for a science fair project.
The other thing that makes a good science project is that you have controls. That means that everything in each of your experiments is the EXACT SAME except for the shape of the building.

All the best,
