Calorimetry Experiment Gr-10

Post by padawan21 »

We did a Chem lab involving Calorimetry with a aluminum bar.
Once everyone did the experiment twice and got our results. We were then required to complete the rest of the Q's at home with an average value.
My question is our experimental value is lower than the theoretical value. And we are then asked to calculate the experiment percentage error. Aluminum specific heat we are given is 0.897 J/g C and our experimental is 0.705 J/ g C (average). We are then asked why our answer is not within a 10% error range.

What happened here, I'm so confused and don't know what went wrong.
