Questions about ISEF and tips for my incomplete project?

Post by sophie7 »

Hi! I recently qualified for the ISEF 2022 through my regional fair. I'm really excited, but I'm really lost as well. This is my first time qualifying and I don't have any older siblings to help me out. So far, my project is incomplete. For my project, I trained a computer model to detect normal and cancer glands in endometrial carcinoma. I'm hoping to create a python model with the data I already have before ISEF in May. However, I have to finish the Finalist Questionnaire by 3/12/2022. If I submit the questionnaire, will I be able to go back and change things such as my category, abstract, research plan, and forms?

Thanks, Sophie

Sophie - congratulations on moving forward to ISEF 2022. That's quite an accomplishment.

To get an official answer to your question about whether or not you can make changes, you should contact someone from the Society for Science (if you can not find the answer when logged in to submit your form). The FAQ for ISEF 2022 can be viewed here: https://www.societyforscience.org/isef/2022-faq/ and here https://www.societyforscience.org/isef/isef-faq/

You will also find rules here: https://www.societyforscience.org/isef/ ... eepWorking

I don't see that they've addressed the kind of question you have, but when viewing the finalist form, maybe there are other FAQs, a link for more information, or an email address to contact with questions? (If not, at the bottom of the main FAQ linked above, there is a "contact us" button.)

Your school science fair coordinator may also be able to help answer your question.

We definitely wouldn't want to provide the wrong answer to you, so I do recommend you reach out to someone at school as a starting point or to Society for Science.

Good luck!
