DNA Damage Lab Using UV and Yeast

Hello! I am exploring DNA damage by testing how UV Rays affect yeast. The procedure originally says to use the sun for the UV rays however, in case of bad weather I wanted to know if an artificial UV source such as a UV light would have the same effect? Thank you!

Hello,

Yes, a UV lamp should work! I believe you can get them from Carolina Biological, but any UV lamp you can find should be fine.
