That's a problem with many professional journals. Unless you subscribe (big $$$ in some cases), you would be charged for reprints of articles.
I haven't had to do this for awhile, but I'd do the research and try to find pertinent references. Then go to your public library and see if they can get the reprints for you. They may have free relationships with many of the publishers. If not, perhaps some of the university based experts here have the ability to get you a LIMITED number of references that their institutions have agreements with.
