How to Work Rectifiers

Hello. I am working on a research where I harness piezoelectricity from Rochelle salt under pressure to power electronic devices. We're doing well so far, but an obstacle is the current. See, piezoelectricity has an alternating current and we can change that into a direct current by letting it go through a rectifier.

But... I don't know how to build a rectifier. Can someone tell me how to create one and the materials that will be used? Any form of help would be appreciated.

In desperate need,

Please check out the following web site which shows circuits for a simple 1/2 wave rectifier all the way up to more complicated full wave rectifiers and explains how they work. The web site is: http://www.allaboutcircuits.com/vol_3/chpt_3/4.html. Best of luck in finishing your project.
