Hi Aaron,

What sorts of questions are you interested in? What sorts of ideas do you want to test? This will give us better ideas for experimental design.

With regards to testing "cheap animals from a pet store", keep in mind that anything involving vertebrate animals (anything from fish, to frogs, to mice) will require SRC approval if you're going to present your work at a science fair. If you can clarify your project ideas, perhaps we can come up with a way for you to test your hypothesis that involves less paperwork.

Best of luck,
Linh

Hi Aaron,

In addition to Linh's advice, what science classes have you taken? Biology and Chemistry are both necessary to understand what your experimenting.

An idea is what you just start off with. What do you want to get out of this project? Keep in mind that judges at science fairs look for students who are genuinely enthusiastic about what they're doing. So basically, why do you want to do this particular project?

I hope this helps!
