Do you believe that a histogram would be an efficient way of measuring red-eye in photographs on a computer? I am interested in measuring the intensity of the red-eye.

Hi naeh,

maybe can you give us a bit more context?
Histograms are useful for organizing and visualizing your data. I'm guessing you're thinking of counting the red pixels in digital photographs? If you're looking at the intensity of red-eye you probably want to divide the number of red pixels by the total number of pixels covering the eye. This ratio would then be one histogram entry. The way this ratio is defined, your histogram would run from 0 to 1 (maybe better: 0 to 100%). And yes, that would be an efficient way to organize and visualize the data.
