Hi, I'm a sophomore and have barely started on science fair. Our teacher has asked us for three topics to turn in to see which she can approve. I had one in mind, it is; Does alka-seltzer affect the pH balance in three different chemicals? I was wondering if this would be a good project or if I could make it a bit more high level? I'm not sure if it's up to my grade level. Any suggestions? I really want to make it to at least regionals this year! Thank you.

Hi,
I think your suspicion is correct. This seems to be an experiment that is fairly well below your grade level.
Here's what I suggest. Have you used the feature on the Science Buddies web site to help you find a science project topic? It's really good. It will help you find something that interests you, and is appropriate for your grade level. If you haven't already tried it, find it here...

Good luck and HAVE FUN!
