Hi NanciLozano,
It sounds like you are interested in forensic science, which is a fascinating field. Science Buddies has several projects related to forensics, and I think you are most interested in something like this one:
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... ml#summary, which involves DNA fingerprinting to identify who was at a crime scene.
Here is a project that involves building your own electrophoresis chamber:
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... p028.shtml
This one examines differences in (blood) spatter patterns:
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... p028.shtml
This one involves the use of luminol to detect chemicals at a scene:
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... p078.shtml
This one involves testing for the presence of blood:
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... p037.shtml
This one is about forensic chemistry and identifying unknown chemicals:
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... p093.shtml
Hopefully this will give you some ideas of how to get started. Please post again (in this same thread) if you have more questions!
