My partner and I are working on a science project about paper chromatography and would like to know which pigments are in a permanent marker?

Hi,

I moved this to the Life Sciences forum for you - the scientists there will help with the question you have.

Hello chariecechristina,
Thank you for posting on Science Buddies! It sounds to me like you are doing this project?
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... ml#summary

By performing the project you will exactly be testing to see whether black ink is just black or if it is different colors (has different pigments). What do you think will happen? Based on the information you have read about on this project (you can look up key words, such as those used in the project outline), what is your expected result? This is called your HYPOTHESIS. Here is a link to help you with forming your hypothesis: https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... esis.shtml

Please let us know if you and your partner need further help. Try to be specific in your questions, so we can help you the best way possible. Until then, have fun!
