Are there any programs that would allow me to run senario tests?....i would like to determine outcomes if a virus were to spread or if a genetic trait spreads down a family line....also i would like to use this program if one exists... to tie into my project of DNA replication.

Hi Zach,

Welcome to Science Buddies! Have you looked at the Science Buddies project on Bioinformatics? https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... p008.shtml It contains excellent resources to help you develop a project based on bioinformatics.

I'm not sure I understand your question, since it sounds like you have several ideas. The Genetic Association Database allows you to look at the effects of environmental factors on genetic diseases. Check out the description and link here: https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... eityourown

I hope that helps. Please post again (in this same thread) if you have more questions or want to clarify your original question.

Thank you very much....i am looking for a way to create a virtual simulation of possable outcomes if a disease were to spread.

Hi Zach,

I did a Google search for "simulation of disease transmission," and found links for scholarly articles and other sites. There is a Disease Transmission Simulation application available through the National Institutes of Health (NIH): http://science.education.nih.gov/supple ... ivity4.htm. Perhaps you can use that to help you design your own simulation, or to investigate the different properties of diseases that affect how they spread.

I hope that helps!
