Non-bench careers for Biochemistry PhD

Hello Everyone!
I am actually an expert here at Science Buddies and thought I could tap into all of the knowledge here. I am a 5th year Biochemistry PhD student at UCLA and have been exploring non-benchwork positions. What types of jobs do some of you have that are non-traditional? And how did you get there? I see positions that I am interested (science marketing etc. (not sales)) in but they are not entry-level positions or I am too overqualified.
Thank you all ahead of time!

Hi there!
I'm not a biochemist and don't really know too many of them. But, I have worked as a College career counselor, so here are my thoughts.
Check out ONET. It's a career source where you can search by major, by interest, by job cluster (i.e. science), skills. That may help and give you an idea of some of the options out there.

Did you ask your school advisors or professors if they had any ideas?
Here are some other resources I found:

http://www.umbc.edu/chem/grads/careers.html
http://jobs.phds.org/biochemistry-jobs/industry
Hope that helps. Good luck in your search

Hi sarahlaugtug,
Thanks so much for these resources. I have been getting pretty involved in the career center here at UCLA but they are more catering towards undergraduates. My advisor is new ( I will be here first graduate student to leave) so she really doesn't have any non-academic relationships. I really appreciate all the links:)
Thanks!
Amy
