does the sweetness of the apple make the apple turn brown more quickly? :?: :?

Hi Pete,

That sounds like a very interesting project. I do not know if sweetness will affect the browing an apple. Could you please explain sweetness a little more- threre are many types of sweets.

I did a google search on apple browning and found http://www.ars.usda.gov/is/kids/mailbag ... answer.htm . It talks about what causes the apples to brown.

Use lemon juice to prevent the apple to brown. Sour stuff might prevent apple browning when sweet stuff causes it to brown.

If I'm not mistaken, putting the apple in salt water also prevents browning.
