Project Idea help

Hello,
I went to a Materials Engineering Camp. One topic was MBE, or Molecular Beam Epitaxy. I was very interested in the topic. I have thought about trying to find a trend (similar to periodic table trends) for certain metals placed onto the substrate together for a science fair project. My mom thinks this sounds like 'rearranging the periodic table,' but isnt it more like proving the table as a model? Any insight or ideas would help. Thanks!

I have thought about looking and analyzing metallic behavior and finding a trend among the periodic table for that. Is that even possible?

You might find this blog and the associated discussion group to be of interest

Good luck with what sounds like a promising area for a good project!
