i am doing some engineering stuff at school and i have to ask experts about my project. we are working on the design process and we are on the ask and expert part. my idea for the fair is how i can make a (model) bridge that is most cost efficient and safest. some questions i have are like, what are the benefits of a suspension bridge and what are bad about them? another question i have to ask is, how do certain materials help the bridges overall design and hold up? if anymore questions i have appear i will come ask them. i will also visit other sources for better and more information if needed.

Is this for an "interview" portion of your assignment? If so, you may want to read the Ask an Expert policy on interviews. You might not get a reply from an Expert to the kinds of questions you have asked as these are the kinds of questions you can research to learn more about as part of your background research for your project.

You can learn more about suspension bridges in the project you will find linked here:
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/blog/201 ... bridge.php That is an introductory-level project, but it will give you some background information about this style of bridge.
This is also a Science Buddies Project Idea on bridge design:
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... p011.shtml
It covers two different kinds of bridges that might also help as you consider your project.

thank you i have found a lot of information and am going to change my overall problem to bridge safety and which type out of truss, suspension, and arch can hold the most weight without falling.
