I'm working on a science fair project that centers around carbon capture and sequestration. I was wondering if there was a way to mock photosynthesis outside of plant cells? Any information helps. Thank you!

There are ways to mimic photosynthesis in the laboratory setting, but they are quite complicated and would require the collaboration of a lab mentor.

Hello!

So I decided to pursue my study on artificial photosynthesis and I contacted a professor at UC Davis. He replied saying he would answer any questions I have. This may be my opportunity to work in a lab, but I have no idea how to make artificial photosynthesis into a project. Any suggestions?

Hi Arielle,

Part of doing a science project is coming up with a question that you want to answer! I can't really decide that for you, but one idea is to compare the efficiency of different setups for artificial photosynthesis. Alternatively, you could explore how different wavelengths of light affect the output of your setup.

I hope that gets you thinking. I think it's time for you to do some background research and develop some questions of your own. Post again if you need help narrowing down your ideas!
