I am doing the project "Seebeck Effect: Turn Heat into Electricity" - My questions is, "what is being measured in this experiment and what units of measurement would I use (I am basically asking what the dependent variable is?) - I am also struggling with what the independent variable would be. Please help!

Hello and welcome to the forums!

You asked what are the dependent and independent variables. From the experiment objectives:
to determine the electrical potential generated at the junction of leads made of different conductive materials and how this varies with temperature.
I'm sure that if you review the "Variables" https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... bles.shtml part of the Science Buddies web site you will have your answer.

At the high school level you may want to consider the "Make it your own" section of the experiment, which would make this experiment more interesting. These suggestions would change your independent variables, but make the experiment more grade appropriate.

Good luck!
