PaintBall Ballistics

Hello, my name is Nik. In my latest Physical Science class, my classmates and I were told to gather information from the survey on sciencebuddies.org, telling which project we should do. I did the survey and found a really cool sounding project called "PaintBall Ballistics". I love paintball, and my friends and I go out and have a fight almost every month. I was wondering if I could get some recommendations on which brand paintball gun I should buy for the project, and what kind of gun it should be. (Pistols, rifles, carbines, etc.) If I could get a good recommendation, that would be great.

Thanks, XD

Hello and welcome to the forums.

I'm sorry but we can't recommend a product brand. Any way you have to launch the paintball will be fine, just use the same method throughout the experiment. A "gun" or launcher that is already "broken in" would be best, so that you don't have an added variable of the age of the spring in the launcher.

Please note that science fair judges often discount experiments like this if it looks like the experimenter was just trying to get their parents to buy them more equipment :D . What this means is that you should do the science part of this experiment very carefully and understand your results.

Good luck!
