Gasses in Fruits

What are the names of the gasses found in hollow fruits, such as green peppers, pumpkin, cantaloupe, and the like? How would I go about sampling without contaminating?

I would suggest doing a search for the names of specific gases, I am not entirely sure myself aside from ethylene, which I am not sure is internal. Are you asking about rotting or fresh fruit? That can alter what gases are present. However one way to get a sample may be to use a syringe and needle to draw out a sample of the gas. You can plug the needle with a stopper as soon as it is withdrawn, but that often isn't necessary. Once you do this, the fruit may seal itself, or require a seal on the surface if you plan on keeping it around. If you are going to dispose of the fruit, than you obviously do not have to worry about it.
Can you provide some details about the experiment, or what your hypothesis is? This may help narrow down a procedure.
