mikki7477 - You have to compare apples-to-apples. Magnets made of the same material, such as alnico (an iron material containing aluminum, nickel and cobalt; al-ni-co) or rare earth materials like samarium-cobalt or neodymium-iron-boron will have magnetic strength relative to their size. The bigger, the stronger. However a small neodymium magnet will have a much stronger magnetic capability than a larger alnico magnet. Hope this helps.
