Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

In advance, I would like to thank you for your time.
Here is my context: As an IB (International Baccalaureate) student, I am required to do 2 Bio Labs. I thought of dying of boredom, but then I found this site. It made me realize doing the experiments could be interesting, and all.

I tried the recommendations of this site and chose the experiment of putting toothpaste to an egg and dropping it in vinegar to observe to what extent would the dentifrice protect the teeth against acids.

I did the design of the lab (which required researching for SLS) and turned it to my teacher. His feedback was that IB wanted the lab to be based on the syllabus, and now I am lost. I have no idea what experiments can be done from it.

What Ive learned so far (and where I am supposed to do the labs on) is:

Topic 5: Ecology and evolution
5.1 Communities and ecosystems
5.2 The greenhouse effect
5.3 Populations
5.4 Evolution
5.5 Classification

A last...P.S. : My second project was apparently accepted.. "Protein, casein and whey protein concentration
In MILK during different stages of LACTATION in cows." ( and again, I have no clue were to start)

As for the project that was accepted, do you have access to cows? Otherwise, are there parts of the curriculum you have been taught so far that you found particularly interesting?

It seems like you have gone over quite a bit in class and there are many, many interesting topics on which you can do a science project! Like the previous expert had mentioned, which of the topics mentioned above interest you? Part of the fun of doing science is to be able to address questions that intrigue you--that makes the process much more engaging. Why don't you let us know which topics you're interested in, and we'd be glad to help you brainstorm ideas. As you may have already seen, Science Buddies has a wide range of project ideas available for you to explore, and I would suggest looking through some of those to get ideas. You can even make some of these projects your own by giving it a bit of your own twist.

As for the project that was accepted, what is the main question and hypothesis? Do you really have to work with cows? If so, like the previous expert had mentioned, do you have access to cows?
