Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

My son decided to do a science project on how pectinase enzyme affects that the amount of juice extraced from the fruits. After all the searching, we can't locate the store that sells pectinase enzyme. Can someone help? Thanks in advance.

I found a store that sells a kit with the enzyme you want, but it also has some other stuff in it too. The store is Carolina Biological and the website is https://www2.carolina.com/webapp/wcs/st ... =&crumbs=n . You might want to call them and see if they could sell you just the pectinase enzyme.

I hope this isn't too late for you, we were able to purchase pectinase in the form of pectic enzyme from a store that makes wine. It was relatively inexpensive ($2.00 and we hardly used any of it). The experiment worked great!
