How can we calculate the amount of heat transferred from a hot surface (preferably a heated metal) to a gas through conduction and radiation, leading to an increase in temperature of the gas?

Hi ravi_i2h,

The short answer is yes, but it may be a nasty calculation. Can you please provide more details about the measurement you want to make, and why you want to make it? Those details will determine how difficult the calculation will be, and it will help me to figure out simplifying assumptions, etc. that make sense in the context of interest.
