Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

So this year i wanted to do a subliminal messaging project, but i am stuck! i wanted to show half the participants a video which one frame would show a phrase that said "red skittles are the best"
the other half would just watch a regular video.
i don't know where to start! i would have to make the video and show it. at this point i am really stressed out. can you help me with formatting and video making?

Windows MovieMaker is on most PCs, and iMovie is on most Macs. Then, google the name of your program + the word "tutorial" or "help" or your specific problem for assistance.

What would be the independent variable if the project was "What effect does subliminal messaging have on people?"

The independent variable is the part of your experiment that you are changing (like an input), and the dependent variable is the part of your experiment that changes due to your independent variable (output).
With what you stated above, it seems as if the part of your experiment that you're changing (independent variable) is the type of video you're showing to your test subjects (people).
Is that still part of your experimental plan?
