Need assistance with T-maze purchase/construction.

Hello, everyone!

I'm conducting a project regarding the cognition of drosophila and their reactions to negative stimuli. For this, I would like to use a T-maze in order to test this cognition, but every outlet I've searched that sells such equipment (San Diego Instruments, etc.) has either not provided me with a price or is selling it for several hundred to a thousand dollars. Can any advice be provided regarding the purchase of an inexpensive maze or instructions regarding building one?

I'm also looking for assistance regarding buying an instrument to introduce controlled electric shocks to the maze. Any help is greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance!

Hi there,

I don't know much about purchasing/constructing T-mazes, but are there any labs at local universities that use these types of mazes to study cognition? One idea is that you can contact them, tell them about your question/hypothesis and the experiment you want to try, and see if they are willing to help you with your project and perhaps let you borrow their equipment. If not, you can also ask them about where to purchase an inexpensive maze or if they know how to build one. Researchers who work with this apparatus should give you some great advice for your questions!

Let us know if you have any other questions.
