Hello my science fair topic is testing what antacids work best on acids. I am changing the active ingredients of the antacids. I need to know the PH level of these 5 antacids, I cannot find them anywhere. Let me know if you know, thanks.
1. Sodium Bicarbonate
2. Calcium Carbonate
3. Magnesium Carbonate
4. Magnesium hydroxide
5. Aluminum Hydroxide

Hello Granth2015.
I was able to find the pH values for the first two compounds listed on this website:
http://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/bases-ph-d_402.html
1. Sodium Bicarbonate - 8.4
2. Calcium Carbonate - 9.4
3. Magnesium Carbonate - 8.5
4. Magnesium hydroxide - 9.5
5. Aluminum Hydroxide - 9.5

Also, if you are working with the acids, you should also considered testing the ph level yourself using pH paper such as this one found here

This would give an accurate reading of your specific sample of acid.
