I've done all three trials from each different water depth, I just don't know how to calculate the wave velocity. Please help!!!

Hi,

Good job completing the data aquisition part of the project. For the calculations, I think what you need is the formula for velocity - I found it on google as v=d/t (velocity = distance/time)? Can you do a google search, too, to see if this is correct? Let me know if that helps or you need more info.

Enjoy your project!

When trying to physically measure the velocity, focus on one crest of a wave (the high point) and count how many times the crest reappears over a certain time period (10 seconds, for example). Then you can divide the number of times you saw the crest by the time interval you choose.

Good luck!
