URGENT! ASSIGNMENT DUE 12/23/14

My science fair topic is the effect of different nitrate levels on gerbera daisy height. I have no idea what values I should use to efficiently conduct my experiment. Whenever I google for appropriate levels, all that comes up is nitrate levels with aquariums and water; not soil. Am I totally thinking of the opposite thing? I dont know my values and how to measure them. Any ideas/help?

I am aware this is not like a chat room but i have been stressed out by this since my teacher said she MUST have it tomorrow morning.

What did you try googling? All I did was search for "soil nitrate levels" and the first couple results mention soil nitrate levels in parts per million (ppm):
