Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

I have a suspected liquid that can possibly cure cancer. But how can i test if it can really cure cancer?
What should i do?
i need answer as quick as possible

Any kind of medical research is usually outside the scope of a science project, because it involves living creatures.

Cancer research usually focuses on animals, testing treatments on animals with cancer, or seeing if environmental changes cause higher incidences of cancer.

When animal trials prove promising, humans may volunteer to be tested on a potential cure, assuming the researcher did a decent job of finding some similarity between humans and the animal in question.

So assuming you are talking about a cure (a liquid applied topically or drunk to cause cancer to go in remission) you'd test on animals that have cancer and if it seemed effective with no side effects worse than cancer, you might get permission for human trials. Humans also have a lot of variation, so a cure that works on one might not work on another. If it works on enough people, with side effects that aren't worse than the disease, then it might go into production, prescribed by doctors, etc.

Science projects explicitly don't allow medical experiments on humans, for safety reasons, and have a lot of restrictions on what can be done with animals, both for safety reasons and because an animal can't really consent, so doing anything that might injure or cause pain is not going to be allowed.
