The Pasta Puzzle

Hello,
I've posted previously on January 27, 2015 and still have not received a reply. My daughter has started the research phase of The Pasta Puzzle experiment. We are having difficulties understanding the experimental procedure. We do not understand why the procedure for the cooling condition is not the same as the procedure for the boiling condition. Why are we not using the same amounts of water for each condition? According to the table on page five we start with four quarts followed by two quarts for the boiling condition. For the cooling condition we start with two quarts followed by one quart. I understand that four quarts is the control but why aren't we testing two quarts of water and one quart of water for both the boiling and cooling conditions. I appreciate any help you can offer.
Thank you,
Tracy Shields

Hi Tracy,

I just responded to your other post. You can definitely test two quarts of water and one quart of water for both the boiling and the cooling conditions. I agree that it makes for a better comparison.
