Bacterial Transformation Results

Hello,

I am working on the Bacterial Transformation Efficiency Project and I am looking for the exact results anyone got on this project. I got my results but i am looking for something to compare it to. I need the exact total number of colonies on your LB:AMP plate and the amount of DNA plated worth so I can solve for efficiency. As much info as you can give me. Thank you very much!! I need answers ASAP so I can figure this out. :| I'm so worried I didn't do it right. Thanks for your help if you give it. I am doing three trials so as many trials as possible would be nice. :D Thanks again!

Hi,

I would suggest that you concentrate on your own results and explain what you found according to your own hypothesis and experiments. Scientists don't all perform experiments in the same way and there is no 'right' or 'wrong' data. There are many scientific discoveries that would not have come about when they did if a researcher had thrown out the results because someone else said they must be wrong.

If you have some doubts about an experiment or a result, post here with ALL the details and we will help you troubleshoot. It is your job to go online and understand your system and the methods you used as well as you can, but if you have specific questions we will be happy to answer them.

I totally agree with SciB that you should concentrate on your own results. If you have any questions about them or if they turned out to be different from what you expect, please feel free to post any concerns here and we can help you troubleshoot. Another thing you can do if you have time is to repeat the experiment again and see if you observe similar results and numbers as your first time.
