Any Chemistry Topics for Research?

Hi.
I've found that in physics, there are some problems that students can research on novel problems in such places like IYPT.
I'm having a 6 month-term research in regular class in school, and I want to experiment some great yet-unsolved problems in chemistry in order to learn more from the phenomenon and advance my chemistry research skills.
Is there any chemistry problems that are currently being discussed in research fields like the problems of IYPT?
Thanks a lot in advance.

PS. I'm a rising senior (12th grade), so it's the last research opportunity before I go to undergrad level. I've finished introductory college chemistry (via AP in freshman grade) and studied introductory physical chemistry (via MOOC from U of Edinburgh). I'm deeply interested in the bonding, reaction mechanism, quantum chemistry, and physical characteristics arising from the chemical properties

I am searching for a topic about Physical Science and how it relates to/will be used/deals with a dust/job/in general with my chosen career. I am studying to be a Graphic Designer in visual communications. Can you steer me in the right direction for choosing a topic for my project paper. Or maybe a topic that includes electricity and Magnetism. ??? Thank you in advance.
