Will I be able to continue with the science project as suggested? The weather is extremely cold where I live. Are there any suggestions of things that can be altered in ore frigid temperatures?

Hello SultanB,

I'm sorry that you're having problems with the cold weather and your solar oven. We'd like to have a warm sunny day where I live, too!

I'm assuming that you are working on the project described here:

https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... p018.shtml

If the temperature where you are is too low to actually cook with the solar oven, you can still measure how fast the temperature rises in the oven. You might try some of the modifications shown in the procedure like adding insulation and making a larger reflector. These modifications should change how quickly the temperature rises in the oven. And, if you have a warm day you might be able to boil water.

I hope this helps. Please post again if you have more questions
