Hi! I have been trying to experiment with the Leyden jar. When I get to the checkpoint, immediately when i touch one part of the wire to the nail or the foil, it discharges immediately. Why is this so? shouldn't it discharge when it finds the path to the foil?

epiclouieman = What is the wire connected to? You might be shorting the capacitor in some way.
