Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

I'v a freshman, school started a month ago and I felt i should start my Science Fair project; it's required for Biology 9H.

Recently, i got an allergy test, and while it isn't extreme, I am allergic to mold (it was +1, if that makes sense to you). I thought it could be an interesting project to find out what molds grow where; i could google this, but i would prefer to discover this myself and use it for a grade. ^ ^;

The due date isn't for a good while, but i would like to get started, so that I won't be rushed.

I know very little about mold, and am going to begin research today. I know that there are deadly molds, so I may research what that grows on to stay safe.

Yes, that does sound like an interesting topic; however, I think that you need to define the project outline a little bit more. Likely it is known where many different types of mold already grow, but you could even pose questions pertaining to how different environmental conditions affect the growth of certain types of molds. Ask yourself what it is that you would specifically like to accomplish through this project. What particular questions would you like to answer? I think that posing these additional questions will ultimately enable you to have a more in-depth project that is hypothesis-driven.
