Using a SOHO to measure the motion of a CME

Hi! I'm having trouble thinking of a question for my project. I've come up with 1 which is "Does Mass Effect the Velocity of a CME?" but I'm not quite sure if that will be enough for what I need.
If you can please help, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks!

Hi TrentBen,
I’m assuming that you’re working on the project described here:
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... p020.shtml
I think you’ve posted a project question that fits with the guidelines shown here:
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... ctquestion
To answer your project question you’ll need velocity and mass data for several coronal mass ejections. You can estimate the velocity of a CME using the procedures from the project description. But I don’t think that the CME videos include any mass data. You may be able to find a way to estimate the CME mass from the video data provided. Or there may be another data source that includes mass.
I hope this helps and good luck with your project. Please post again if you have more questions.
