In the "Make it Your Own" section of this project, a database that is no longer active (Genetic Association Database) is referenced. Is there an alternate database that can be used? If not, are there any other suggestions as to ways of personalizing this project?

A quick search online gave me an additional resource that may be of use to you:

It looks like you can search by both gene names as well as any diseases to look for associated genes involved. Try using the "Browser" function and click on the first link (CTD Human) to narrow the searches to human genes and diseases. Just as a test, I gave this function a shot by searching for a cancer subtype (colorectal cancer), and it gave me a nice list of the major known genes involved in the disease.
