I want to do my science fair proposal on Night Sky--constellations, stars, planets
We have to write a QUESTION? HYPOTHESIS, PROCED, MATERIALS, etc.
I am stuck in trying to make up my hypothesis.

My question is "Is it a star or a Planet in the sky"
I am going to use an app to show the visual night time sky and record my findings.
I don't know how to write my HYPOTHESIS?

I know it is a staement, but how do I prove what I am looking at?
I need help please.
Thank you.

I also am not sure about what my variables would be.
What is constant? What is my variable?

Hello maxjojo,

A hypothesis is a statement about what you expect to happen in your experiment. Your hypothesis should include what you will do in your experiment to make something happen that you can observe or measure. There is a great tutorial on constructing a hypothesis at this link:

https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... ml#keyinfo

An independent variable is something that you will change in your experiment to get a response that you can measure in a dependent variable. The following link has detailed information about variables.

https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... bles.shtml

In the project you are working on, what will you change? That’s your independent variable. What will you observe or measure? That’s your dependent variable.

I hope this helps. Please post again if you have more questions.
