So I'm working on my science fair project at 10:57pm because it should be done by Sunday ( :x ) and I am very confused. i am using a project from this site:

https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... ml#summary

I am doing the first bullet point on "Make it Your Own" and I wanted to know how to make a hypothesis for this project..

I believe that there are no experimental groups, so that can be excluded.

Can you please check it out and suggest some hypotheses? Because I have tried to come up with one and it hasn't worked.

I mix up the independent and dependent variables a LOT so if you could help that would be great....

Hi,

The hypothesis is your statement of what you think will happen--in this project which 'soil' type will cause the most sugar cube buildings to be knocked over.

The experimental groups are the different materials--jello, cornstarch, etc--that you use in the 'soil' trays.

Independent variables = what you control (the soil materials, the shaking)

Dependent variables = what you measure (how many sugar cube 'walls' fall over after shaking)

If you have more questions, let us know.
